Bio

Aaron Meicht

is a composer, trumpet player and electronic instrumentalist.

His music has been presented at Incubator Arts Project, HERE, The Exponential Festival, ABC No Rio, HAU in Berlin, The Stone, Munich Experimental Music Festival, Ausland, The DUMBO Spot, Kulturhaus Mitte, Vital Joint, The Brick, Silent Barn and the Knitting Factory.

2017 saw the ten year anniversary of the OZET project. OZET is an ongoing artistic collaboration with Scott Blumenthal that encompasses a variety of live performances, films, music and rituals. Each piece of the project draws on and expands the fictional history of the Collective Sphere OZET: an enormous spacecraft, created by an alternate-past Soviet empire to be home to several hundred lishenets (politically disenfranchised enemies of the people), euphemistically called “Pioneers.” Previous OZET performances include Katorga (IAP), Common Hall Village 20 (IAP), Alberts I-V (HERE), and Koba/OZET Songbook (IAP).  The Transmissions is available on all streaming platforms.

Aaron also writes music for theater, film, and dance productions. On Broadway he wrote music for Danai Gurira’s Eclipsed, directed by Liesl Tommy (starring Lupita Nyong’o) and Beau Willimon’s The Parisian Woman, directed by Pam MacKinnon (starring Uma Thurman).
